Düsseldorf`s Hotel InterContinental is hosting its third Vertical Gallery:
Armin Morbach: Fashion Messies

The vertical gallery inside Hotel InterContinental: the installation stretches through eleven floors with one picture per floor hanging opposite of the glass-elevator. With going up and down one can see the pictures evolve like a flip-book.

Morbach collected fourthousand plastic bags for this project...

...and stapled them onto furniture and walls to create the 'messie set' which creates the extreme contrast to the white high fashion.

Picture on the eleventh floor, where the photography reaches its climax with the most persons in one picture.

Morbach shot the series in his studio in Hamburg, built the set and did the styling himself.

Morbach raises interesting questions on consumerism and our validation of objects in his exhibition. When somebody piles up 500 empty cans f.e. we consider the person a "gross messie", but when a woman has collected 500 pair of shoes we think its cool.
So, where do we draw the line? Why are huge amounts of certain goods acceptable and others are not? How is it, that we only consider the collecting of cheap objects compulsive and don`t apply the same logic to luxury items?

I was impressed with the exhibition. The clearity, details, contrasts, colours and contradictions in Morbach`s photography are amazing. I was even more impressed when I learned that he is an autodidact (in photography) and did the entire realization himself. It is ultra-rare that one person possesses all the skills to create such a series: the vision, the filigree skills and the artisan skills.

Amin Morbach has clearly established himself as one of the most important contemporary german fashion photographers and set up an installation that is very worth seeing.

The exhibition is running from february 2nd until april 1st 2012.

Salvatore Ferragamo PreFall 2012 Presentation

Fragments of a journey. A station, the echo of trains softened in the refined atmosphere of an exclusive lounge. Waiting, an ultra-sophisticated woman, naturally elegant in her daytime clothes with the intricate play of printed checks, lozenge and patchwork. On her knees a beauty case, square but soft, made of precious skins.

Her style expresses a sense of eccentricity: unexpectedly short hemlines and the open folds of her pleated skirts, accentuated by her sophisticated poses.

She wears a soft brimmed fedora graced by a feather, an astrakhan-lined leather and python cape and a key by her neck, as a pendant or the buckle of a blouse.

She chooses a double-breasted check overcoat with leather piping and small jackets with traditional patterns and wears them with a shirt and square-ended tie over slim double wool trousers with a new padlock belt.

For the evening, brush-stroke check print on silk twill plays with velvet, while pleated chiffon cocktail dresses are enlivened by magnificent geometrical lace embroidery in full colour.

The vibrant tones of the autumnal palette dictate the atmosphere of this voyage: red wine, purple and thyme green, lit up by the comforting softness of neutral hues like camel, tan and leather.

The knitwear, a field of continuous experimentation, is a showcase of sumptuously rich textures.

The entire collection is enriched by the luxury of exotic skins: from the Argyle sweater with suede, python and cashmere inlays, to the knitted dress with crocodile, python and ostrich piping, the exclusive allure of the suede suit with crocodile borders and the ostrich overcoat with a check flannel lining.

The wardrobe is completed with the collection of the bags, small and exquisite: the travel case, the shoulder clutch, the portfolio, and the crocodile or suede beauty cases with python and metal detailing on the padlock-style fastening. Skins, crafted with virtuosity, reversed and raw cut, generate forms that are simple yet constructed, either flat or geometric.

A bon ton spirit, with a strong dose of the unconventional, the shoes burst from the décolletées and the salomé of interwoven crocodile, ostrich and python. Emblems of a new lifestyle reconciling tradition and evolution, these shoes are ultra- feminine with sinuous lines, dainty toes and thin heels.

Photography is currently going through a period of change. However, it is not just the digital revolution that is changing the way photos are taken and the technology that is used and broadening possibilities, the global data space itself has become a new resource. Despite all the digitalisation, the method of producing a unique analogue photograph remains an option. Aesthetics and the way photos are 'staged' are changing. Migration and globalisation are new themes. The 'new photographers' have a different perspective on the history of photography. They have new heroes; heroes that come from history and from other disciplines. They are no longer afraid of the aural and the sublime. And they are open to new forms of presentation, to installations, to a blend of media and materials. Photography, so it would seem, has at last arrived in the free arts.

'The future does not belong to pure photography, but to the free arts,' says Andreas Gursky, one of the »advistors« of the "State of the Art Photography" exhibition. The NRW-Forum Düsseldorf asked for photographers who are tipped to be the movers and the shakers in this field in the coming years. In an attempt to reflect this remit, each of the 40 artists/photographers who feature in this summary exhibition is represented by a collection of images or an installation.

A tour of the 40 exhibits makes it clear, for example, that while photography is currently experiencing a renaissance of classical themes such as landscape or portrait photography, the objective and the focus have shifted.

Notwithstanding their technical creation, they hark back to an art form where it was permissible to submerge oneself in the image and the landscape. At the same time, they point to the fact that perception can be influenced by memories, ideas, and emotions.

Many approaches could be referred to as 'academic' or 'scientific', research into the traces of humanity, the biographies of young people, or brain imaging ... these photographs are comparable with the results produced by a scientist or a researcher; they are of high documentary value, yet at the same time do not deny their aesthetic dimension. Sanna Kannisto's work, for example, is based on biological studies.

The photographers were proposed by Andreas Gursky, Thomas Weski, Klaus Biesenbach, Udo Kittelmann, FC Gundlach, Thomas Seelig, Andrea Holzherr, and Werner Lippert. They hail from America, Europe, and South Africa; other continents and cultural spaces will be addressed at a later date.

In a unique co-operation between the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf, the book 'State of the Art Photography' has been published by feymedia to coincide with the exhibition. In this book, 6 pages are dedicated to each of the 40 international artists and include biographies, bibliographies, and illustrations of their work. The 264-page book is an independent, multilingual hardcover publication aimed at people who want to know today what is going to be the next big thing in art and photography tomorrow.

The collection was inspired by a Degas Painting of young girls watching Spartans exercising and the ancient games- with classic cuts and tailoring all taken from the Vivienne Westwood archive collections.

The chalk patterns from the painting influenced the strong silver palate through the collection with the ancient look somehow transforming into a space age Barbarella which was also reflected in the hair and make-up.

Tropical wool from the classics and Price of Wales checks in cotton created sharp smart suiting looks.

The show also introduced the Rainforest charity, Cool Earth, and a campaign that is very close to Vivienne’s heart- a plan to save the most vulnerable Rainforest areas by 2020.

Sitting front row alongside the fashion royalty were celebrities Kelis, Pamela Anderson, Erin O’Conner, Tracey Emin, Jaquetta Wheeler, Portia Freeman, Zara Martin, Eliza Doolittle, Paloma Faith, and Sunday Girl.

The show took place at the historical Smithfields Market, London.

Outdoor festivals like Glastonbury or Coachella are established in the fashion world. The style of the attending IT girls is precisely documented on the style pages of Vogue and other important publications. Now "festival style" has made it to the runway. Dean & Dan, known for their love for outdoor activity, have created a lifestyle-oriented summer collection that fully expresses the 'Screw fashion, I wanna rock and have fun!' festival attitude. Wide, comfortable cuts, rubber boots, hippie dresses, vintage shirts and fun accessories in a random mix - the contemporary festival gear for today`s IT girl.
A personal note: I don`t get this. I have been to many outdoor festivals and I have always been sexy, prim and proper! No matter how rainy or muddy it was. The new Roberto Cavalli advertising campaign for Spring/Summer 2012 revolves around the iconic beauty of four Supermodels: Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson, Kristen McMenamy and Daphne Groeneveld are the Florentine designer’s muses, as he chose to represent the collection through women who embody the standards of a modern appeal.

Steven Meisel shot the campaign in the studios situated on Pier 59 in New York, set against a monochromatic background which emphasises the splendour of the printed silk dresses and the garments, illuminated by golden embroidery and sumptuous embellishments. The make up was done by Pat McGrath.

It is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT; it features four stunning Supermodels, representing different types of women in different ages, in breathtaking dresses. It is shot by my favourite photographer, who knows that 'the perfect woman' in the perfect dress doesn`t need any further addition. I love that this campaign doesn`t try to manipulate me by adding 'lifestyle scenes' or 'emotional promises'. This campaign fully stands on its own, shining and impressing with what it is: pure luxury. The world`s most beautiful women wearing stunning gowns being shot by one of the best fashion photographers of our time. Once again, Roberto Cavalli shows his true understanding of beauty and it`s perfect staging by picking only the best of everything, reminding us that luxury is not just in the opulent surface but runs deep.

Retrospective: Christian Lacroix`s Costumes for the Paris Opera Ballet

Christian Lacroix created 130 costumes for 'La Source', including 39 original designs, decorated with over two million Swarovski Elements.

Embroidery, tiaras, saris and fairy costumes emerged from the close collaboration between the workrooms of the Opéra national de Paris and Swarovski, blending ethnic influences and classical taste, enhanced by the sparkle of crystal.

The beautiful production played at the prestigious Opéra national de Paris, from 22nd October to 12th November 2011.

'La Source' is a typical nineteenth century ballet in which romanticism vies with orientalism, and yet the plot highlights the relationship between Man and Nature in a surprisingly modern way.

Persian palaces and fragile nature form a perfect setting for Christian Lacroix`s imagination to conjure up a sumptuous and dreamlike world of Elves, Nymphs, Khans and Odalisques.

The legendary and fantastical world of Persia serves as a backdrop for the thwarted love affairs of the hunter Djemil, the beautiful Nouredda and Naïla, the spirit of the spring.

It is a ballet in two acts and three tableaux. The Libretto is based on the work by Charles Nuitter and Arthur Saint-Léon.

The light and colourful score brought were together by the renowned 19th century composer Leo Delibes and his Austrian contemporary Ludwig Minkus.

The libretto by Arthur Saint-Léon and Charles Nuitter draws on Wagnerian romanticism, orientalism and Shakespearian influences, and contrasts the real world with the realm of elves, nymphs and ethereal beings.

For his first creation for the Paris National Opera Ballet, Jean-Guillaume Bart, Principal Dancer, takes this storyline and revives a forgotten work from the dance repertoire, which was created at the Paris Opera in 1866.

Working closely with Clément Hervieu-Léger, Jean-Guillaume Bart restores the original freshness of La Source. He creates a major story full of dance, poetry and virtuosity, enhanced by Christian Lacroix`s flamboyant costumes and an evocative and moving set by Eric Ruf.

The S/S 12 'Waterlilies' collection invites you to take refuge in a peaceful meditation at the centre of an enchanted, flowering aquarium.

The women who take the stage wearing Jafari's collection make their entrance as Monetesque paintings in full bloom, misty eyed, draped in swirling colours in the same hues, evoking the essence of playful romance.

The silhouette is deceptively simple, ballooned, pleated blouses worn under high-waisted skirts, draped dresses with pockets, folds and knots adding a new dimension to the silhouette.

Further developed in this collection is Digi-droidery; the innovative technique coined by the designer to describe a truly unique dimension to her work, where Eastern embroidery meets cutting edge digital print.

Swarovski crystals, intricate hand embroidery and embellishments on necklines are layered over digi-droidery to create the feel of oversized embellishments.

Spring/Summer 12 sees Central Saint Martins and Goldsmiths graduate Mia Jafari mark her Ready-to-Wear design debut with ‘Waterlilies’, a collection of seductively playful silk dresses encapsulating the spirit of romance. The collection of abstractly painted and digital rendered blouses, skirts and dresses utilize the british designer`s training in both design and art.

Combining actual paint and embroidery with digital manipulation on ballooned silk georgette blouses, micro mini ruffled dresses and draped vintage inspired silk dresses, ‘Waterlilies’ oozes Jafari’s playful aesthetic whilst evoking a more mature and sophisticated elegance.

I really like this collection. It is everything I want from summer fashion; light, soft materials, prints that remind you of blossoming flowers and meadows and cuts that let you feel the warm wind on your skin. I also love how the collection is showing lots of skin in a very classy way.
With the aquarium and impressionist paintings Mia Jafari has chosen two appropriate inspirations that create a harmonic outcome.
It is unbelieveable that this is a first collection. Fully standing on it`s own, it doesn`t need to fear any comparison and even tops the current summer collections of many established designers.
I`m looking forward to seeing more from Mia Jafari.

Influenced by the unlikely combination of famous paintings by Vincent van Gogh and Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, Rodarte’s whimsical Spring Summer 2012 collection is a great fit with Swarovski Elements.

Iridescent beads and pendants add texture to romantic off-the-shoulder dresses while square sew-on stones create a pixilated effect on the straps of chunky heels.

I`m a fan of mixing different forms of art and would think that mixing visual art from different centuries, like 19th century Post-Impressionism and 20th century animated film, creates an interesting result. I really like this collection, the depth of colours and also the cuteness and playfullness. It`s just the Disney influence that gives me a headache.
It is arguable if animated film counts as a form of art but that is not my problem with it. I`m disapointed that the Mulleavy sisters (that I consider to be fantastic designers) incorporated something as "low" as Disney into their collection, as for me Disney does not stand for "cute animated film" but for consumerism, hypocrisy, brainlessness and the spreading of reactionist & sexist gender-roles.

May I add, that Disney is NOT the original creator of the Sleeping Beauty! The Sleeping Beauty is a fairy tale which was handed down through oral tradition and, as such, the original author is unknown. Charles Perrault published a version in his Tales Of Mother Goose in 1697 and the Brothers Grimm also published a version known as 'Briar Rose' in 1812.

This truely is one of the greatest Haute Couture collections in history! Everything about it is perfect; it is impressive from the opulent shapes to the the terrific details. Each look is a firework and the theatrical show with the models strouting the like pharaos and posing like divas brings them to life.
Galliano`s play with proportions and volume is ingenious - earrings as large as shoes, skirts three times as wide as the waist and sleeves that touch the floor - THIS is Haute Couture; the artistic vision, the exaggeration, the perfect details and the perfect tailoring, all leading to a piece of pure beauty, born in the realm of fantasy, realized without the restrains of "practicability" or "wearability".

I hope the CEO`s of Dior are sitting in their archives crying that they let Galliano go. He IS the greatest couturier alive and there is NO replacing him! He must return to Dior. There is no other way.

Runway Video: Chanel Prefall 2012 'Paris - Bombay'

Staying true to his custom of exotic inspirations for Chanel`s prefall collections, Karl takes us to India in 2012 and references Sari`s and colonial-style.

I`m thrilled about the jewellery, opulence and also appeciate the colonial looks. They work in non-colours because they are defined by their cuts. I just wonder about the political-correctness of this reference since colonialism is a rather dark chapter of history and this is collection is no critical reflection but a romanticisation of it.

I feel that the merging of cultures is reaching it`s aesthetic limits in this collection. The classical Chanel black and white hardly works without it`s minimalistic square-cut and a Sari doesn`t work without it`s bright colours and prints. A white Sari simply isn`t a Sari.
Another thing I strongly dislike is the dreadlock-reference to the 1970s hippie-interest in India. This is neither Chanel nor India. What would Coco Chanel say to a woman desecrating her hair like that!?! Dreadlocks are not only the refusal of elegance - they represent a neglection of western culture. So how can Karl put them together with colonial-style, which represents a part of western-history that hippies oppose!?!

The mixing of cultures does, of course, raise contradictions but this collection is simply not consistent in itself. By putting together the wrong facets it is as if he had 'neutralized' what was initially great about them (-> see the white Sari).

Conclusion: beautiful but does not withstand further analysis.

Roberto Cavalli has designed the outfits for the Italian singer Laura Pausini’s World Tour, which will begin on 22 December 2011 in Milan.

The edgy suit made up of trousers and gilet on which the embroidered panels were expertly hand-treated by skilled artisans with python, crocodile and also partly in nappa leather, joined with long suede fringe.

All of the garments have a strong stage presence.

They are a part of the performance: every change of outfit corresponds to a change in the scenography.

Another impressive number is the look composed of a black jacket with a satin collar, paired with a black lurex jumpsuit with pavè and black Swarovsky crystal embroidery.

Retrospective: Givenchy Haute Couture 'Eclect Dissect', F/W 1997/1998, by Alexander McQueen

'Eclect Dissect' was McQueen`s second collection for Givenchy.

It was shown in Paris Medical School in july 1997.

For this show McQueen`s art director Simon Costin imagined a fictional surgeon and collector who travelled the world collecting exotic objects and women, whom he took apart and reassembled in this laboratory.

The runway show staged the return of these murdered women who come back to haunt the living.

The models embodied their ghosts, dressed in the exotic garments collected by their murderer on his foreign journeys.

Scottish tartan, Spanish lace, kimonos, Burmese necklaces and eastern folk dresses decorated with feathers and stuffed animals merge to outfits with a morbid aura.

The analogy between the designer and the surgeon is obvious.

McQueen acts like a surgeon himself here, dissecting the traditional clothes and reassembling them.

The japanese Obi, for example, becomes a corset and the Kimono becomes a tight skirt.

McQueen`s reassemblage didn`t make the women seem like victims but as vengeful ghosts.

He always wanted to empower women with his fashion and I think he succeeds with this collection.

The mix of cultures is extended beyond fashion; the show also makes references to his own, british, culture (in the 19th century): the dissecting-reference to Jack the Ripper (who also influenced his graduation collection) and the 'women returning from the dead' motif from the Gothic Novel.

I LOVE this collection! It`s like an "early version" of 'Widows of Culloden' with an additional exotic touch. Not only is the tartan the same as in McQueen`s fall 2006 collection, the opening music of Givenchy was also played in his show!
McQueen is the only designer EVER to mix elements of Scotland, Spain and Asia - and it works! I love how the models act like victorian ladies, the Princess Leah hair and the Burka with the bird-cage on top! McQueen`s fantasy and courage to put traditional items into new contexts and mix cultures & times will be unrivalled for 100 years at least.

First Burberry Store Opens in Sweden

Burberry has announced the opening of its first store in Sweden, on Biblioteksgatan 6 in Stockholm.

The 200 square metre store, situated over three floors, was designed by Burberry Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey and features British materials and themes. It is set in a historic building from 1900.

The new store will showcase Burberry London, Burberry Brit, and Burberry Accessories, including the following categories: menswear, womenswear, non-apparel, fragrances, timepieces, and eyewear.

To mark the opening of the store, Burberry will be hosting an event on 31 January 2012.

World Bank sits on 90% of Unspent Funds for Forest Projects Vivienne Westwood & Frank Field MP Launch Campaign to Expose Failings

Dame Vivienne Westwood is investing 1 million of her own funds to launch a 7 million pound fundraising campaign supporting the rainforest charity Cool Earth. The action is to highlight World Bank’s expenditure failings as a staggering 90% of funds pledged to halt deforestation remains unspent. (See bottom of press release for details). The designer and environmental campaigner, coupled with Frank Field MP (founder of Cool Earth) aim to demonstrate how rapidly money can be deployed into rainforest programmes.

The campaign called “No Fun Being Extinct”, (nofunbeingextinct.org) supported by fashion’s biggest names, such as Kate Moss, Lily Cole and Sadie Frost will run for 18 months during which time Westwood will aim to help Cool Earth secure three of the world’s most endangered forest.

Former Minister, Frank Field founded the rainforest charity Cool Earth in 2007 as a vehicle to allow ordinary people to leapfrog governments and take immediate action in the fight against climate change by protecting rainforests. The conservation method is a ground up approach, which works with indigenous communities to make rainforest trees of greater economic value left standing than cut down.

Despite a growing number of research papers highlighting community led management as the most effective way to keep rainforest standing over traditional reserves, many communities are not receiving pledged funds.

The Climate Investment Fund dedicated 600 million dollars (£390 million) to the Forest Investment Programme (FIP) to “tackle drivers of deforestation” with UK tax payers providing the most generous contribution – almost four years on, only 15 million dollars (£10 million) has been spent, all of which has gone on administration and advisors.3 Vivienne Westwood will demonstrate how taxpayers money should be spent when it comes to saving rainforest for the benefit of the nations future.

Frank Field founded Cool Earth as a result of his utter despair at governments’ failure to solve the problem of deforestation, "The lack of action in spite of such generous funding is a real disgrace. It shows that political will is just as important as money."

Fashion designer and environmental campaigner, Vivienne Westwood, has been working closely with Cool Earth over the last 3 years, “Cool Earth has a plan to save the rainforest. If we don’t save the rainforest forget it! I am personally supporting Cool Earth and investing in our future. I’m inviting anyone interested in saving our beautiful world to join me.”

Frank and Vivienne are calling on the government to invest in community-led forestry management, which has been proven to be the most effective way to halt deforestation. Vivienne is presenting a report to No. 10 to showing how her funds have been spent to show that an effective mechanism to halt deforestation does exist.

Cool Earth has protected over 2.5 million acres of vulnerable rainforest since its launch in 2007, which has cost just £1.75 million with less than 10% spent on administration. This is because the charity has worked from the ground-up with local communities who have a clear interest in keeping the forest standing. This works out as costing just a half of a percent of the FIP’s budget.

Vivienne will also be calling on the public to help protect trees at Cool Earth’s new website launched on a November 28th called ‘No Fun Being Extinct’.

Salvatore Ferragamo has annouced an upcoming exhibition on Marilyn Monroe in conjunction with the release of Simon Curtis` film "My Week with Marilyn". The exhibition shines the spotlight on the seductive aura and allure of Marilyn Monroe.
It will be held in Florence from June 2012 to January 2013 at Museo Salvatore Ferragamo, which in 1999 purchased 14 pairs of the actress’s shoes originally designed by the brand’s founder.
Through his shoes, Salvatore Ferragamo contributed to the legend Marilyn would become: they accentuated the innate and intense sensuality of the woman whom Salvatore likened to Venus, the Greek goddess of beauty. In addition to the costumes she wore for her most celebrated roles, the exhibition will host works of art depicting Marilyn as a myth of unattainable and tormented beauty, a myth that moves us to empathy and enthrals us still today.

For the second year Swarovski and Hotel 'Vier Jahreszeiten' have decorated a 5-meters-high christmastree in the hotel`s lobby, just like Harrods in London or the Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.
To support the Unicef-Gala on november 30th an advent calendar has been installed in the hotel`s lobby which guests can but lottery tickets for and win Swarovski gifts. The proceed will be donated to Unicef.

1. Shoes make the man.
Make sure your shoes are appropriate for the occasion, which will mean immaculate, closed leather shoes most of the time.
Sneakers are only ok in the gym and flip flops only at the beach.

2. Get a REAL HAIR-CUT.
I cannot stress this enough! Your hair is the frame of your face and shapes it. Most flattering hair-cuts require a certain length so go to a professional salon and don`t require ‘short and practical’. Flip through their books of model-haircuts and pick one that corresponds with your head-shape AND that you`re able to style by yourself every morning (the hairdresser can show you how). You will have to buy and use products for that.

3. You need at least eight suits.
A well-fitting suit is still the best thing a man can wear.
You need:
- one formal black suit for official occasions
- one formal evening suit (preferably with satin or leather details)
- three modern work suits (they can have trendy cuts)
- one tweed-suit for traveling in style
- one white (or beige) linen summer suit
- one casual, stylish suit for private parties and occasions.
Black, dark blue and all shades of grey are safe choices. If you`re into fashion you can go for red, tartan, dark green and shades of light-brown.

6. Take care of your skin. You need an eye-cream, a day-cream (with UV-protection of minimum 15) and a night-cream. Anti-ageing starts at age 25. If you get skin irritations from shaving first change the method of your shaving, then the products (the dermatologist is the last resort).

November 28, 2011 – Tom Ford, in partnership with Marion Heinrich, also owner of the new Marion Heinrich Store, opens his first retail store in Munich. The 1400 square foot, two-story franchised flagship store is located at Falckenbergstrasse 9, 80539 Munich adjacent to Maximilianstrasse.
The retail site will ecompass the womenswear collection including clothing, footwear, accessories, eyewear, fragrance and beauty collection under the TOM FORD label.

One enters the store to arrive in a world of feminine luxury. Tom Ford and long-time collaborator Bill Sofield conceived the light-filled and streamlined design to harmonize with the elegant, historic surroundings. The use of polished chrome and blue de Savoie marble that one sees upon entering at the Perfumery is continued throughout the entire first floor which houses eyewear and handbags. On the second floor, softer silver and grey upholstery makes the customer feel as if she is in a luxurious sitting room.

Tom Ford, President and Chief Executive Office, commented, “I couldn’t be happier to be opening our women’s store in Munich. I have known Marion for years and couldn’t ask for a better partner for our first TOM FORD store in Germany. Our goal with this store is to address an extremely discerning luxury customer who demands the highest quality product and service.”

I LOVE the collection and show! It is feminine but tough, historical but modern and very wearable luxury. 1. Cover the flaws of your body and emphasize the good parts at the same time. If you`ve got something nice to show – work it, baby!
	2. Rather “refine your type” instead of changing like chameleon. Find out what works for you and stick to it (that especially goes for make-up).

3. Have a definite hair-colour. Get rid of the dirty blonde or the ashish brown and get a haircolour that suits your type at a professional salon. Make sure your hair is always in it`s best condition (that requires using professional products).
	4. Learn how to do a make-up that covers the imperfections of your face (f.e. make your eyes look bigger, your lips fuller etc).

5. Have a professional pluck your eye-brows (regularly). The expert knows the right shape for your face.
	6. Always have a perfect manicure and pedicure (that means men too!).

7. Develop your own daily and weekly beauty routine and stick to it! Beauty requires persistence.

8. Shoes make the person! The choice of shoes says a lot about you so make sure they are high quality and always immaculate (sorry ladies, fake red soles are NOT an option!).

9. No plastic, please! Stay away from tanning, hair-extensions, fake nails or plastic surgery. These tacky no-go`s will throw you right into Jersey Shore-hell.
