One of the worst things one can say to bash a woman`s outfit these days is 'It`s too matchy matchy.' Fashion has seen a decade where mixing was a must. It started with Patricia Field`s Sex and the City looks and was continued in the colour-blocking trend, that we considered it cool and creative to 'break the rules'. As it is with trends, we love it as long as only the stylists and fashion icons do it but when it hits the streets and we see how people get it wrong, it`s over. We have totally reached this point with the mixing-imperative! It`s enough.
It is time to return to thoughtful & well-planned outfits. The point is not to become "conservative or less creative", the point is to make sense again and return to harmonic looks (if only to give our eyes a break from all the chaotic atrocities of the last decade!). Another point is to get real about ourselves; not all of us are blessed with great taste, the confidence to pull off daring combinations or the occasions to wear the "fashion-forward looks". I say: let`s return to sense (instead of taking the risk of looking like a parrot) and remember that rules do not just exist to be be broken - they also exist because they make sense.

The first Burberry World Live event, staged in a custom cylindrical space, combined an 8 part 360° film, live musical performance and digital weather experience, all directed by Christopher Bailey
“We were thrilled to be in Taipei tonight to not only celebrate the opening of our new store here, but to also mark the beginning of Burberry World Live.
We created the Burberry World platform for our online community and tonight that came to life when we connected our guests with everything the brand stands for today, using original content to take them on an emotive and sensory journey, blurring the digital and physical dimensions of our brand.
It was incredibly exciting to be able to tell our story of British heritage, weather, music and fashion in this way for the first time against the vibrant backdrop of Taipei – we can’t wait to evolve Burberry World Live further as it tours cities around the globe later this year.” comments Christopher Bailey.
British musician Tom Odell, performed live (for the first time in Asia) at the event, accompanied by an orchestra.
